producers were great.
Tarzan-(2003) Pilot- Detective Gene Taylor-This was a gift. I didn't audition for it. They asked me if I would like to do it and immediately agreed because David Nutter was going to be the Director. I've worked with him several times and it has always been great. And they said that it might be a recurring character. It was a fun shoot. The pilot was shot in Vancouver. The cast and crew were great.

Thurman. This was a difficult movie for me because I didn't get a chance to really do much acting but it was a great paying gig and I really had a blast with the cast and crew, especially Joe Morton, Michael C. Hall and John Cassini. We really had some fun nights out. Also, I really liked Ben. He was a nice guy. And so was John Woo. It was great to see him play with all his high tech toys: the cranes and cameras.

Law & Order: Criminal Intent-2004: This was very cool. I had a great time. It was nice to work in New York again, I really missed it. Great actors, great writers and great producers: recipe for success.
Chaos-2004-This is a Wesley Snipes, Jason Statham, Ryan Phillipe movie. Had a small part as Detective Branch. Shot in Vancouver.
Kevin Hill-2004- This was a lot of fun because I got to play a lawyer. I'm usually playing some kind of law enforcement type but in this episode I got to question the defendant
and deliver a closing statement. Got to work with Director Bruce MacDonald who really let me run with the part. Really enjoyed it. It was also a very relaxed set. Taye Diggs and the rest of the cast were very loose and there were lots of laughs.
Eleventh Hour-2004-This is a critically acclaimed Canadian TV series shot in Toronto. Based on the behind the scenes look at a newsmagazine like 60 Minutes. Got to work on an interesting story about racial profiling. It was also fun because I got to work with Jeff Seymour, a friend who I have worked with before.
Cinderella Man-2004-This was one of my favorite jobs on so many levels. I got to work with some enormously talented people on a major movie. Cinderella Man stars Russell Crowe as 1930's boxer James Braddock who upset Champion Max Baer in 1935 to become Heavyweight Champion of the World. I play referee Johnny MacAvoy who officiated the Championship fight. This is filmmaking at its best. I had to go to "Ref School" to pick up some pointers and I did alot of research on the fight. We had several days of rehearsals for the choreography. It was also ongoing everyday of shooting. I didn't have a stand in so I would work with the stunt doubles and then the actors. Long hours but very fulfilling and mostly fun. It was directed by legendary director Ron Howard and produced by Brian Grazer. It is a beautifully written story about a man taking care of his family during the Depression. It also stars Renee Zellwegger as Braddock's wife, Paul Giamatti as Joe Gould, Braddock's manager, Craig Bierko as Max Baer and boxing legend Angelo Dundee as Braddock's cornerman. Angelo has to be one of the greatest guys I've met! That is no exaggeration. He really is a nice guy. He is 82 years of age and has a razor sharp memory. It also stars Paddy Considine, Ron French and a slew of great Canadian actors. I especially had a good time with them because we were a very close knit group having spent very long hours together. My hats off to Nicholas Campbell, Dave Huband, Boyd Banks, Wayne Fleming, Daniel Kash, Sergio Dileo, Lou Eisen and Ken James. The list is not complete without mentioning actor Jim Ritz. We really hit it off. He has been in 13 of Ron's movies. He is also a record producer and a big Frank Sinatra, Bobby Darin and Ricky Nelson fan. Many of us were at his hotel room being treated to some great DVD's and CD's from these great artists. I can't say enough about Ron Howard. He was just so great. Friendly, accessible, gracious and a fun guy. Russell was a bit of an enigma: some days he was very moody and other days incredibly generous and gregarious. But, no denying that he is an excellent actor and this movie will continue to prove that. I didn't get a chance to meet Renee because we didn't have any scenes together. All of my scenes were shot at the old Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto. This site was chosen because it resembles the original Madison Square Garden where the fight took place. There were six arenas built to the same specifications and Maple Leaf Gardens is the only one left. Paul Giamatti was excellent as well as being a nice guy. This movie will really bring him to the public's eye. The same for Craig Bierko, who had to learn to box for the role and keep up the training for months. Both Paul and Craig were cut ups on the set. Lots of great memories on this movie. They should all be like this!
Assault on Precinct 13-2004- This is a remake of the John Carpenter movie. It stars Laurence Fishburne, Ethan Hawke, Brain Dennehy, Maria Bello, Gabriel Bryne and John Leguizamo. This was a just two days work but was great fun and I think will be a memorable scene in the movie. It is a scene between me (an undercover cop) and Laurence Fisburne (a gangster). It was shot in a church. Laurence was a thrill to work with. A professional and just a great guy.
