After having been accepted to the Toronto Italian Film Festival, I thought I'd try this one. It was their inaugral film fest. It was held at a beautiful new theater at the Leonardo DaVinci Cultural Centre in St. Leonard which is part of Montreal. I was born in Montreal and still have lots of family there and most of them live in St. Leonard! I was still in Toronto so I decided to make this a road trip to Montreal. It was wonderful. I stopped in Ottawa, Mont Tremblant, Quebec City and lots of places in between on my way to Montreal. This festival went very well. It was well attended. I had lots of friends and family there to support me and I won Best Comedy Short! They hired a standup comedian to do a show and be the emcee and presenter. His name is Mike Marino and he was great. They showed my film before his routine, as a warm up. He was really funny and had the crowd in stitches. This festival is off to a great start and I wish it continued success. Grazie!
